Incontinence Care Program

The focus of Providence’s Incontinence Care Program is maintaining healthy skin, reducing infections and respecting the dignity of the person.

Each of our caregivers is trained in the unique needs of every client. Cueing, or “reminders”, may be adequate for assisting one person, while hands-on assistance is required for another. Regardless of what level assistance is necessary, or whether the client is bladder and/or bowel incontinent, Providence caregivers can meet each person’s needs with sensitivity.

Medical professionals that work with Providence marvel at how skillful we have been in caring for clients who arrived at our doors with skin that had been neglected. The seriousness of our Incontinence Program is emphasized in staff training. Skillfulness, understanding of the importance of this program, and sensitivity to the client are emphasized repeatedly.
